Ways To Give Donate Today Emergency Earthquake Appeal Donate Fundraise The situation On 31st August, a devastating magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Afghanistan's eastern provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar and Laghman. So far, it is estimated that over 2200 people have lost their lives, and over 3600 people have been injured. However, as response teams and communities work hard to reach those in the most remote areas, this staggering death toll is expected to rise even further. "The earthquake has left countless people in dire need of relief. Families already impacted by Afghanistan's ongoing humanitarian crisis have now also lost their loved ones, their homes, and their livelihoods. Emergency funding is needed to ensure they receive urgent assistance and targeted support to rebuild their homes and lives." - Charles Davy, Managing Director at Afghanaid.
